‘The Sun’ reports that Wolves are looking to renew Adama Traore’s contract with a salary of seven million euros per season, which would make him the highest-paid player in the squad. The aim is to sign him in the face of interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

Adama Traore has become one of the Premier League’s biggest sensations in recent years. His explosive physicality has boosted Wolves’ standards with the inevitable problematic consequence of noble suitors such as Liverpool and Tottenham emerging as suitors to sign him. And the board’s response could be to make him the highest-paid player in the squad.

‘The Sun’ claims that the club’s bosses are looking to make him a renewal offer of seven million euros per season. The idea is to seduce him and make him feel comfortable so that he does not look favourably on changing teams, although it is true that the Reds and Spurs could send a counter-proposal of similar monetary forcefulness.

The ball is left in the court of the winger and his agents to deal with this attempt when it becomes effective, that is, when the club formally begins talks with his representatives. While this does or does not happen, the player has taken the field four times this season and the transfer window in England is now closed.

This means that Liverpool and Tottenham if they do not give up their pursuit of him and provided Wolves fail to bring him in, could come back for him in January. His current deal runs until 2023, so if interested parties want him, they will have to reach an agreement with his owners.
