Chelsea goalkeeper reveals the results of Kante ‘s test, why midfielder chooses to avoid training

Willy Caballero, goalkeeper of Chelsea, announced that his teammate, N’Golo Kante, checked COVID-19 negatively

The 38-year-old veteran shot-stopper also revealed that in a Zoom call, Kante told him he felt too scared to return to training after having had a bad experience with coronavirus symptoms during the quarantine period.

Last week the winner of the FIFA World Cup in France 2018 decided against training.

Speaking about the development, Caballero said in an Instagram Live to TNT Sports: “It is very understandable.

“N’Golo Kante tested negative for COVID-19, but he had a bad time of it during quarantine with symptoms of the virus that gave him that fear.

“We love him, and we’re going to wait until he feels relaxed because the reality is that to do what we’re doing, you’ve got to feel okay and happy, and we’ve got to all move forward together after we start again.

“N’Golo is a very humble and hard-working person who always smiles, and he must have his reasons for lifting his hand and saying what he has said.”

He added: “We had a lot of Zoom meetings with Frank Lampard and the other players, and he said that because of the way he had felt over the past few weeks, he did not feel comfortable going back to the training.

“We know he’s someone who loves training and running and is incapable of lying about something like this. We support him, and we respect him.”
