Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, wants the club to tie down five players to new and improved contracts.

The Norwegian feels players like Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw should get pay rises.

However, Solskjaer is also optimistic that Paul Pogba will sign an extension with United.

The Red Devils boss wants his core group of players to be on similar wages, to protect dressing-room harmony.

Fernandes’ salary of £100,000-a-week pales into comparison to some of his teammates, with David de Gea on £375,000 and Pogba on £290,000.

Maguire, Rashford and Shaw all earn around £190,000-a-week and will likely be offered similar terms to Fernandes.

Fernandes scored a brilliant Premier League hat-trick during the 5-1 thrashing of Leeds last weekend.
