Chelsea are said to be \u2018confident\u2019 of landing Jules Kounde in a \u00a343m deal from Sevilla, with West Ham still the \u2018likeliest\u2019 destination for Kurt Zouma.<\/p>\n

The European champions are pursuing a deal for Jules Kounde before the transfer window\u2019s deadline next week and are in \u2018advanced talks\u2019 with Sevilla over a deal for the defender, though a move hinges on the departure of a senior centre-back option.<\/p>\n

Zouma has held talks with West Ham over a move to the London Stadium after falling out of favour under Thomas Tuchel, though the player\u2019s wage demands have so far prevented a \u00a330m move from progressing.<\/p>\n

talkSPORT are reporting that West Ham remains the \u2018likeliest\u2019 destination for the France international however, as the two parties bid to reach a compromise and conclude a deal.<\/p>\n

Zouma\u2019s exit will free up both funds and space for Chelsea to secure the signing of Kounde, with the west Londoners reportedly \u2018confident\u2019 of agreeing a \u00a343m deal with Sevilla.<\/p>\n

That figure is some way short of Kounde\u2019s \u00a368m release clause and will take Chelsea\u2019s spending to around \u00a3140m this summer, following the club record signing of Romelu Lukukau from Inter Milan.<\/p>\n

Chelsea will have raised around \u00a390m from sales should Zouma\u2019s switch across the capital materialise, having sold the likes of Tammy Abraham (\u00a334m), Fikayo Tomori (\u00a325m) and Marc Guehi (\u00a318m) for significant fees.<\/p>\n

The Blues are also working on several further departures before the closure of the window with Ross Barkley, Danny Drinkwater and Ti\u00e9mou\u00e9 Bakayoko \u2013 set to return to AC Milan on loan \u2013 amongst those surplus to requirements.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
