Premier League to resume May following the break of coronavirus<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

According to the Daily Mail, the Premier League is working on a proposal to restart fixtures that will be played behind closed doors from May’s first weekend.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Officials are looking at Sunday, July 12 as the scheduled finish date.<\/p>\n

The proposals will be discussed extensively on a conference call by the 20 clubs on Friday.<\/p>\n

However, it would need to be endorsed by the Government, public health bodies and the PFA.<\/p>\n

The Premier League is trying to fight financial losses and potential legal threats caused by the coronavirus shutdown.<\/p>\n

There are obligations with broadcasters, who have a watertight \u00a33billion-a-year deal which expires on July 31, with next season\u2019s deal kicking in the following day.<\/p>\n

Fixtures are currently suspended until April 30 at the earliest.<\/p>\n
